I have required extensive dental care all my life (genetics!) and am therefore familiar with the professional care and office efficiency of a wide variety of dental practices. The lack of nearby dental care choices made me hesitant to retire to rural Saskatchewan. I had terrible experiences with another dentist in Nipawin, and one in Melfort, so I was glad to see another dental practice open relatively close to home. On my first visit, for a cleaning, nearly a year ago, they were respectful of my initial apprehension (I had enjoyed excellent dental care in California). The cleaning was very gentle, but thorough. X-rays were shown to me and reviewed in detail, revealing a cracked and loose 30-year old filling, so a repair was scheduled. When that was filled, I had NO pain or afterward discomfort. Just before I was due for my second cleaning, I cracked a 40-year-old crown, and was seen very soon after I called. They referred me to an excellent Saskatoon endodontist, who agreed with their recommendation for extraction, since the tooth had vertically split and could not be saved. The extraction was performed at Oxford Dental Clinic with no discomfort whatsoever, and the assurance that nitrous oxide was available, if I required it. The procedure was painless, requiring only local anesthesia, and he gave me thorough, clearly written post-care instructions. The office staff is very warm and efficient, calling a day previous to remind me of appointments. I have another regular cleaning scheduled next week. I highly recommend this clinic.
